Business Problem
The diagnostic test industry is very fragmented, with patients struggling to find labs to perform the tests, search for the types of tests available, the costs involved, and appointment times with different labs. Conversely, labs performing diagnosis do not have a central system to manage discovery, bookings, staff workflows, payments, and report delivery. The goal was to develop a single interface where both patients and diagnostic labs would be linked. The requirements included a system for patients to book tests easily while allowing them access to their reports as well. The system was also supposed to enable labs to handle their entire process through technology.
Solution Overview
BMLT (Book My Lab Test) is an integrated digital platform that links patients, testing laboratories, and field staff in one single ecosystem. It is based on a similar idea to utilizing food ordering platforms. The application will allow patients to search facilities, compare tests and offers, book appointments, track the blood collectors in real-time, and view results using a single application. In this way, it provides custom workflows for each type of user within a single integrated system.
